George leads LIU Finance across the Asia Pacific region. He is responsible for all aspects of LIU’s finance activities, including transactional accounting processes; financial planning and analysis; external reporting; and taxation. The primary emphasis of LIU Finance is on working closely within the business to achieve the company’s strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of financial governance.
George has a Bachelor of Economics and over 20 years’ experience in the finance sector, focusing mainly on the insurance industry. He began his career in auditing with a large multinational company, and held senior positions with a global insurer and a large Australian bank before joining LIU in 2014.
Ben oversees the management of LIU’s activities throughout Asia.
Based in Singapore, Ben is responsible for development and execution of regional strategies related to product disciplines and geographical functions for Asia.
His role is focused around identifying opportunities to increase revenue, productivity and profitability and encompass development and maintenance of relationships with brokers, cedants, reinsurers, approved actuaries, auditors, bankers and regulators.
He is also responsible for the management of the LIU team based in both the Singapore and Hong Kong office.
Ben has over a decade’s experience in the insurance industry. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology.
Working with a geographically dispersed team, Steve is responsible for the management of the Civil Construction product line globally.
Steve joined LIU in July 2008 with a mandate to formulate and execute a strategy for the global roll-out of Civil Construction as a new product line within LIU. Prior to joining LIU, Steve spent just under 20 years at Swiss Reinsurance, finishing there as Head of Engineering, Asia. During his time at Swiss Re, he was primarily involved in the insurance of major construction projects worldwide working in South African, London, Zurich and Australian markets. Before his time in reinsurance, Steve spent 10 years in a variety of site-related construction activities including bridge, mining and structural erection projects.
Steve comes from a Civil Engineering background, has a Bachelor of Commerce and is an Associate of the Insurance Institute and a Fellow of the Risk Management Institute of South Africa.
Responsible for the leadership of the Human Resources Division across Asia Pacific.
Damien leads all areas of LIU’s Human Resources activities including recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, communication and culture initiatives as well as developing, implementing and coordinating HR policies and programs that support the business strategy.
Damien has a Bachelor of Commerce and over 20 years' experience in the human resources profession across a number of industries including insurance, pharmaceuticals, accountancy, law, finance and the not for profit sector.
Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific & NSW Branch Manager
John McCabe is responsible for the strategic direction of LIU’s Asia Pacific offices, overseeing risk management, capital efficiency, structure, new business and mergers and acquisitions. John is also managing the New South Wales branch activity including overseeing all underwriting, claims and risk management activity.
John’s experience includes over 15 years in insurance and 13 years in public practice accounting. Prior to his current role, John was global Chief Risk Officer in Liberty Mutual’s Boston head office.
John is a Certified Insurance Professional and a Fellow of ANZIIF. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Economics.
Senior Vice President Casualty
Dominic has over 30 years insurance experience and joined LIU in 2000 as a Senior Casualty Underwriter. During this time, he has led our Casualty Underwriting teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Dominic also managed the set-up of our Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide offices.
Today Dominic heads up our Casualty division for LIU Australia.
