Luke’s focus is on Fire/ISR for the growing commercial property book and completes risk engineering surveys and desk reviews across diverse range of occupancies. These reviews include assessments unique to each type of operation and site, estimating the expected maximum loss, providing insights into specific risk issues and reviewing progress on the implementation of risk improvement recommendations.
Experience in these areas includes educational facilities, light and heavy industry, community groups, commercial assets, manufacturing, not-for-profit institutions, care, retail and places of worship. Technical support is also part of Luke’s role and he may be called upon to assist with specialty casualty claims, such as those involving professional indemnity.
After completing his mechanical Engineering degree (USyd), Luke worked for a global engineering firm as a graduate engineer in their building services division. After two years working for a large energy consultancy, further training for a Dip.Ed. (MacqU) and then teaching at two NSW schools, Luke entered the insurance space in 2009 working for various international insurers. Luke joined LIU in 2013.
