Mike joined LIU in 2007. His focus is on Property, ISR and construction accounts. He conducts both risk engineering surveys and desk reviews across a range of occupancy classes and has experience with commercial property owners, light and heavy industry, primary and extractive industries, food processing, and gaming and entertainment venues. He has also provided risk engineering advice on construction projects including roads, railways, mines, buildings and process plants.
Mike assists LIU's Underwriting and Claims teams with technical matters on First Party line accounts as part of Liberty’s integrated business unit model. He also provides technical risk advice to LIU’s Specialty Casualty group -mostly for Project PI accounts on both the Underwriting and Claims issues.
Before joining LIU, Mike worked as a mining engineer in western NSW. Since 1994 he has expanded his skills in risk management with a large international brokerage and with a number of major Australian insurance companies.
He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (honours) from Sydney University. Mike is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
