Our Casualty team’s key focus is on Primary Combined General and Products Liability (CGL), Umbrella/Excess Liability, Statutory Liability and Excess Workers’ Compensation. We also write Professional Indemnity (PI) as part of a combined PI/CGL offering for certain business profiles.

Adelaide also serves as the Liberty Asia Pacific regional base for Upstream Exploration & Production Casualty insurance.
The head of both Liberty Australia Casualty and our Excess Workers’ Compensation offering is based in Adelaide.

As a member of the Liberty Adelaide Casualty team, Andrew underwrites corporate and commercial Casualty business in South Australia.  

Personal profile

Andrew’s insurance career began in 1999 and he held a range of management/underwriting roles with both domestic and international insurers and broking houses prior to joining Liberty in 2012.

Andrew holds a BA (Asian Studies) from Flinders University, as well as ASIC Tier 1 (Insurance Broking) qualifications and a Cert. IV in Frontline Management.

Matthew manages the upstream Exploration & Production Casualty portfolio across the Asia Pacific Region. He is also the South Australia branch manager, in which role he oversees all branch operations, including branch Casualty business. In addition, he is responsible for promoting Liberty Adelaide’s cross-lines approach to business.

Personal profile

Matthew has 30 years of underwriting and broking experience - focused mainly on corporate national and international clients - in both Australia and Asia (specifically, Vietnam). He joined Liberty in January 2011.

Matthew holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking).
